Headquartered in Addison, IL, Shape was acquired by Gen Cap America, Inc. (“Gen Cap”) in 2015 and is led by an experienced management team with average tenures exceeding three decades.

Objective
Matrix was retained by Gen Cap to pursue a sale that ensured complete liquidity for their majority ownership position and to place the business alongside a well-capitalized partner.

Solution
Matrix ran a robust and comprehensive process to identify financial and strategic parties that had the wherewithal and market interest that would be most relevant to the goals of the client.

Received robust interest in the Company led primarily by strategic buyers. Matrix ultimately recommended selling to an overseas buyer that had visions to expand its presence in the United States.
