Process

With each assignment, we are committed to maximizing value and exceeding the expectations of our clients.

There is not a “one-size-fits-all” transaction process that will maximize value regardless of the client’s situation – which is why Matrix customizes every transaction process within the confines of the then existing marketplace in order to meet the unique and specific needs of each client. By running a targeted and structured transaction M&A process, we are able to achieve transaction values typically above our quoted valuation range. We pride ourselves on providing flawless execution and offering an intensive, detailed approach to each and every transaction we handle.

Since 1988 we have successfully completed hundreds of merger & acquisition transactions and created hundreds of satisfied clients. We maintain constant communication with the private equity, mezzanine and senior lending markets, and over the years have developed thousands of relationships with these key M&A industry participants.

What our Clients Are saying

  • “In our talks with Dixie and Mr. Able, they liked our family-first approach to customer service, and took great comfort in knowing their customer base will be well taken care of. Our size gives the customer advantages in service, price protection plans, and delivery options. We think the acquisitions are a win-win for us and the customers, and we have heard very favorable feedback so far. The team at Matrix was a great partner to have as we navigated the negotiations and due diligence process.”

    Carlton Revere, President
    Revere Gas, Inc.
  • “Without Matrix’s guidance on this very complicated transaction, a successful consummation would have been difficult. I also can’t say enough about the solid organization, customer base, and supply chain that Darryl Harman has built. I am excited about the opportunity to develop the RESCO brand in the traditions that have made it great.”

    Mike Bourn, CEO
    Richmond Electric Supply Company, Inc.
  • “Matrix did a great job in leading the sales process, maximizing value for our stores and working with our legal counsel to negotiate the transaction. We are pleased that TA will be maintaining our existing employees and vendor relationships. Along with our daughters, Shannon and Jennifer, we have operated our stores as a family business for 26 years and will truly miss the convenience store industry. It was not an easy decision to sell, however we are confident that our employees and customers are in good hands and look forward to seeing positive changes for them all. We appreciate each and every employee and customer. We greatly appreciate the hard work John Underwood and his team at Matrix, along with the law firm of Winthrop & Weinstine led by Mark Johnson, did in bringing things to a successful close.”

    Ed Seck, President
Stop-a-Sec, Inc. and Seck Enterprises, Inc.
  • “Selling one’s life work is a very challenging and emotional decision. Cedric and the Matrix team were extremely helpful in navigating this process. Their support and help, blending together the desires of us and the buyer, were invaluable. We thank them immensely. I would also like to thank the entire Apache team, our employees, customers, and suppliers. Your dedication was our success. Additional thanks goes to Jim Castle for having the faith and foresight to become partners with a 23-year-old over 27 years ago. Finally, a special thanks goes out to my lifelong friend, teammate, and brother, Willie Castle, whose decision to join us 12 years ago enabled us to take Apache to a new level. I wish my late father was around to see this”

Christopher Ohl, President & Managing Partner
    Apache Oil Company, Inc.
  • “When we approached Matrix, we asked them to explore alternatives to create liquidity for a departing shareholder.  Their marketing efforts generated attractive opportunities from a wide range of capital providers; however, we ultimately decided that a minority capital raise through a senior debt instrument was the right solution and best achieved our objectives.  The Matrix team was extremely professional throughout the process and did an excellent job managing a highly complex transaction.”
