SENIOR LEVEL
Our senior level team members include Managing Directors, Directors and Vice Presidents. Our senior level professionals assume a leadership role in the firm, ranging from sourcing and executing M&A and capital raising transactions to leading and mentoring a team of professionals. Offering senior level attention to our clients during every step of the transaction process is paramount to the relationships and trust that we have built with our clients. As a senior member of our team, your responsibility will be to ensure that our clients are treated with the utmost respect and professionalism, and provided with the absolute best investment banking services.
ASSOCIATE
Associates at Matrix are key members of our client engagement teams and work closely with senior professionals while supervising the work of Analysts. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing the performance of financial and valuation analysis, including in-depth financial modeling and analysis of deal structures; research of financial and strategic buyers; developing transaction marketing materials such as confidential information memoranda and management presentations; facilitating due diligence requests including the management of virtual data rooms; and preparing pitch presentations for meetings with prospective clients. Additionally, Associates at Matrix actively participate in other aspects of client engagements, including: fostering and furthering relationships with existing and potential clients; communication with prospective buyers; and transaction and purchase agreement negotiations.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited university
• Exceptional academic track record with relevant finance and accounting coursework
• Minimum of four years of work experience in finance, accounting, or other related field
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects
• Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, transaction-focused team environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Must obtain applicable FINRA securities licenses within six months of employment
• Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
• Passage of FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam (Learn more here)
• Two or more years of investment banking work experience
• Holder or candidate of any of the following designations or degrees: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), American Society of Appraisers (ASA), or Juris Doctorate (JD)
ANALYST
Analysts at Matrix work directly with other deal professionals to execute all facets of client engagements. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performance of financial and valuation analysis, including in-depth financial modeling and analysis of deal structures; research of financial and strategic buyers; drafting transaction marketing materials such as confidential information memoranda and management presentations; facilitating due diligence requests including the management of virtual data rooms; and preparing pitch presentations for meetings with prospective clients. Additionally, Analysts at Matrix get exposure to other aspects of client engagements, including: communication with prospective buyers; transaction and purchase agreement negotiations; and substantive participation in client and potential buyer meetings.

INTERNSHIP
Matrix’s Summer Intern Program provides a comprehensive introduction to investment banking and our firm. The program is designed to give interns the opportunity to experience the life of a full-time Analyst. Summer Interns work on live M&A transactions and are provided with training and guidance that enables them to make an impact. Upon joining the firm, Interns are assigned a mentor to lead them through this unique experience, providing feedback, introducing them to the M&A transaction process, and assisting in administrative and workload management issues. Summer Interns may be offered the opportunity for a full-time Analyst position.
