John is a member of the Downstream Energy & Convenience Retail Investment Banking Group and is responsible for conducting financial, industry, and buyer research, creating valuation and financial models, and preparing selling and private placement memoranda. Prior to joining Matrix in 2015, John was an Associate Equity Analyst with BB&T Capital Markets covering publicly traded mid-cap and small-cap companies in the industrial machinery sector. John began his career in public accounting as a Senior Associate with Keiter, providing assurance and advisory services to large, privately held companies in the financial services, manufacturing, and construction industries.
John received a B.B.A. in Management from James Madison University. He also received a Post-Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds the Certified Public Accountant designation and is a CFA Charterholder and member of the CFA Institute. He is also qualified as a FINRA General Securities Representative (Series 7), Uniform Securities Agent (Series 63) and Investment Banking Representative (Series 79).
